Hatha yoga is the basis of all physical forms of yoga. The postures (asanas) are experienced one by one, alternating between effort and relaxation. The mental component is as important as the physical posture and the breath. You will learn to practice with acceptance and patience, without pressure.
Tessa Overmars is certified yoga teacher and mindfulness trainer. She received her Hatha yoga teacher education in India. Tessa joins classes and workshops with several teachers in a variety of styles, to deepen her own practice and get inspired. At USC she teaches Hatha yoga and the Yoga fundamentals course.
In Yin yang yoga, dynamic postures (Yang) are alternated with static postures (Yin). The Yang part focuses on the strength and flexibility of your muscles, while the Yin part focuses on the deeper connective tissue of your joints and organs.
Barbara Falorni received her Yin yoga teacher training at Yagoy Amsterdam, after finishing her education as a children yoga teacher. She also works as a holistic massage therapist and embodiment trainer. At USC she teaches Yin yang yoga and Yin yoga.
