USC Winter Games
! Weigh-in starts at 14:00, so make sure you’re on time !
On 5 January, USC will host the first USC Winter Games: a multidisciplinary strength sports event. During the Winter Games you try (accessible) exercises from the following four disciplines:
- Weightlifting: Clean & Jerk
- Powerlifting: Bench press and Deadlift
- Strongman: Yoke walk
- Strength & Conditioning: a workout of 8 minutes
Prizes will be awarded for every discipline and for an overall winner. So, enough opportunities to win.
Everyone is welcome to join! But, make sure you’re well prepared. Take part in the training sessions, or check out the tutorial videos below.
We’ll conclude the event with a borrel at Maslow Café on Science Park!

- Joining the USC Winter Games costs €5,- for students and €7,50 for non-students.
- Get your ticket in the USC webshop.
- On the day itself, you can sign up at the front desk of USC Universum. Here, sign-ups cost €10,-.
Training sessions
Not familiar with the exercises? No problem!
To provide everyone with an opportunity to (safely) take part in the Winter Games, we will host training sessions at USC Universum. Every session will cover one of the four disciplines. You can sign up for the sessions separately and follow a crash course on how to perform the exercise(s) from that discipline.
- Weightlifting: Clean & Jerk | Sat 3 December, 11:30-12:30
- Powerlifting: Bench press + Deadlift | Wed 7 December, 20:00-21:30
- Strongman: Yoke walk | Fri 9 December, 17:00-18:00
- Strength & Conditioning (regular classes) | Mon 12 December, 20:30-21:30 | Fri 16 December, 19:00-20:00 | Wed 21 December, 20:30-21:30
