Group fitness classes explained

BBB video
BBB is a training for the three B’s: belly (abdomen), buttocks, and legs (in Dutch ‘benen’). You start with a low-impact warming-up followed by various exercises for the aforementioned muscle groups.

Beat cycle – video
An energetic cycle workout with a high fun-factor and exhilarating music. What do you do in a Beat Cycle class? Mainly cycling of course, but you can expect some dance moves and exercises while cycling! You will build up your endurance and shape your body, along with some entertainment. You can go all the way, or just take it easy and enjoy the vibe.

Body weight training
Do you want to know how to do a pull-up or an inverted row? Then this is your class! In this circuit class we mostly do body weight exercises, with the help of some tools such as fitness bands to increase or decrease resistance. We also use kettlebells, bosu, steps, and more to keep challenging you.

Calisthenics
Eager to master a handstand, pull-up, or even a human flag? This is your chance to defy gravity! Take yourself to the next level and start to train like a gymnast. Calisthenics is taugth at ASC. Also consider the 9-week calisthenics course at ClubWest.

Cyclevideo
This is a workout on a spinning bike under guidance of an instructor. During this ‘cycle tour’ you can adjust speed, resistance, and your posture (sitting/standing). The stimulating effects of music can give just that extra impulse. You are free to decide what intensity suits you.

Essentrics
Essentrics is an effective toning workout to music. Dynamic stretches and fluid movements will quickly result in strong and flexible muscles. You work on more flexibility and a better posture. You do not need weights or fancy steps for this.

HIIT
High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) consists of short periods of intense exercise, followed by short breaks. In this 45-minute workout you will improve your general condition, but also your speed and strength, by using simple materials and your body weight.

Pilates
Your key words in Pilates: body posture and control, suppleness, breathing, and consciousness. You do predominantly floor exercises which cover every posture muscle in your body, especially the abdomen, back and buttocks. The exercises are performed in a slow and fluid manner in conjunction with your breathing. During a Pilates class, it isn’t about the number of repetitions and exhausting yourself – it’s about the care and precision with which you execute the movements. The result: a better posture and more supple body.

Pole gym
Pole gym is a challenging workout in and around the pole, in which you train strength and flexibility in your entire body. In this training you’ll find elements of gymnastics, calisthenics and yoga. A fun way to learn to sit, climb, hang, spin and do basic tricks. Note: this is not a dance class!

Pumpvideo
Pump is a group barbell workout on music. There are no steps or dance combinations, just simple and efficient exercises with barbells and dumbbells. You train muscle endurance by doing many repetitions for each muscle group.

Rumble
An intense class in which you perform various punching and kicking techniques on a punching bag with upbeat music. Go for it and grow fitter and stronger. You do not need a background in martial arts.

Shredvideo
A high intensity cardio and strength training. Low pace and heavy weights alternated by high intensity exercises. Various attributes will be used during the training, like kickbags, steps, bikes, weights, or kettlebells. All exercises are easy to follow for all participants. Nonstop sweating guaranteed!

Strength & conditioning
Workouts consist of varied functional movements at high intensity. The small group setting guarantees intense guidance of the trainer and a strong social environment. You’ll be working hard and there’s no way you’ll get bored as every class is different. Exercises are with your own bodyweight and/or external weights. Strength & Conditioning will increase your work capacity across time and domains. So if you want to develop every fitness aspect – from a heavy deadlift to a 1500m run and from rope-climbs to pull-/muscle-ups -, this is your workout! CrossFit

Strong flow
The name says it all: a class in which you strengthen your body with dynamic movements. The exercises are inspired by yoga and pilates, and a little bit of fitness. You will reach a feeling of focus & flow thanks to the up-beat music and instructor.

Yoga basic
A yoga class that is accessible for everyone and with enough physical exercise! By performing common yoga poses and movements, you will work on your flexibility alternated with moments of relaxation. Are you looking for more intensity? Try Strong flow! And if you’re interested in specific types of yoga, then check out the fitness+yoga-membership.

Zumba – video
Zumba is a combination of fitness and dance movements set to world and Latin music such as salsa, merengue, reggaeton, cumbia, calypso, flamenco, and hiphop. Do you like dancing, swinging music, and an intense workout? Then this is your group class! Party mood guaranteed.
